Benefits of the food pantry

• Families are accessing more nutritious food and can now cook healthy meals for themselves.
• Some parents have higher self-esteem and reduced stress, thanks to being able to afford to cook nutritious, tasty meals for children.
• The food pantry is reducing debt issues for families and improving their financial situation. Having access to food at a lower price means that families’ incomes are stretching further.
• Families are being linked with further support to help them address underlying issues of debt, housing, income maximisation.
• Volunteering opportunities have been created for local residents. This is giving people an opportunity to serve their community and meet people from diverse backgrounds.
• The food pantry is building and promoting community cohesion.
